The Bhutan Wine Company is pioneering the fine wine industry in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan — the world’s only carbon-negative country. Their wine range, called Ser Kem (meaning “an offering of alcohol to the Gods” in Bhutanese tradition), is the first and only wine ever produced from grapes grown in Bhutan. The first commercial harvest took place in summer and autumn 2024, with releases including a Sauvignon Blanc, Traminette, Riesling, Rosé, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, and two proprietary blends — the Karp Reserve I (white) and the Marp Reserve I (red).
